Yes, I happen to be one of those crazy people who collects traffic signals. I currently have nine signals, including two pedestrian signals, and seven vehicular signals.

I have always wanted one, ever since I was four years old. Had to wait 23 years before I could own one. Bought an Eagle Durasig 12-8-8 combo with Ecolux red LED cluster off of eBay in February '02. Within two months, I had my first Econolite combo head, which is a 12-8-8-12 4-section head, shown with a green arrow. Now has a fiberoptic bimodal arrow, and a Leotek red LED cluster that screws into the normal incadescent light socket. Was given to me by the City of Bellevue, WA. Originally hung @ 140th Ave SE and SE 8th ST, directing westbound traffic. Within two weeks, I had a 2-way cluster of LFE 12" 2-section ped heads. Gave one away with my Durasig to a guy who I met on the Signalfan's Club on MSN.

In October of 2002, a friend of mine and I stumbled across a bunch of 8" RYG McCain Traffic Supply signal heads @ the City of Seattle surplus store. Both of us came home with one on that trip. I picked up two more about a week later. Then, in November, I got my ICC 16" neon worded ped head from the surplus store. It wasn't until April of 2003, when I added to my collection. Found an Econolite 8" RYG head @ the Seattle signal shop with a ONE WAY sign mounted to the bottom of its backplate. Needs some work, and now is an 8-8-8-12 with bimodal arrow in the 12" section.

In July of '03, I gave away the LFE and the McCain signals, as well as a GE 400W HPS street light that I had lying around from the same intersection that my first Econolite came from. Later on that month, another guy I met on Signalfan's Club gave me a Crouse-Hinds model DT Art Deco single section head with a Kopp Glass walk lens, as well as some Eagle 8" lenses, a Kopp 8" green arrow, and four green Smiley lenses.

Fast forward to February 2004. I dropped in at an antique dealer in Snohomish, WA, that had four RYG 12" signal heads on display. Talked to the owner and found out about a scrap metal dealer that was a few blocks away. Went crazy. The first time I was there, I came home with two 12" RYG Square Door Econolite heads from Everett, WA and a 12" Square Door Econolite section with a bimodal arrow. One of the Econolites was in poor shape and became parts for the other. Second time, picked up a 12" RYG LFE head that was missing lenses, otherwise complete, a 12" LFE section with a bimodal arrow and visor, a 3M bimodal arrow section, and a '50s Eagle 12-8-8 head that needs lots of work. Third time, I picked up a 3M model 131 RYG head that was complete, except for two bulbs being MIA. The last time I went, I picked up a Crouse-Hinds 9" 2-section 2-way ped cluster, some visors, a reflector, and the two bulbs I needed for my 3M.
