Just for the record, I'm in a house with Josh and Joe.  Building fires, pwning noobs, blowing fuses, and generally having fun.  And sleeping and stuff.  And I'm officially a victim of the economy!  Or perhaps a beneficiary. 

Yeah, I got a new computer.  3ghz, 4gig, 512mb 9800gt, room to double ram and add SLI.  (for the uninitiated, it's decently fast and powerful, and I hope to make it last multiple years.)  Oh, and a 22" 16:10 wide screen.  (fun stuff)  Now I just need to figure out what to put inside to make use of the full side window. 

After more than enough months of service to justify its cost, my poor wonky DSL modem gave up the ghost yesterday.  So no more blocked port 80s that would fall right into the management page like a local request.  No more super-high-pitched whine that makes you question your sanity.  No more antiquated square boxy things on the counter next to my new cordless phone. 

Please join me in observing a moment of silence. 

Thanks to the magic of Amazon prime, my new modem and its wireless addon should arrive tomorrow.  Nothing special, nothing amazing.  I just hope it all works the first time.  (I already wrote down every last setting and even downloaded all the firmware updates just in case.) 

Now to squeeze a few more minutes of service out of the old one in between reboots.
