 Description:Villa Salbe is a delightfully restored villa on a high hill overlooking the W. Umbrian town of Città della Pieve. The location on the border between Tuscany and Umbria makes it an ideal base for day trips into both regions (driving times to Rome or Florence are 2 hrs.; Siena, 1.5 hrs.; Autostrada A1, about 15 min.; Lake Trasimene about 30 min; Perugia, about 45 min.). And there is a very convenient train connection at nearby Chiusi. The owners have lavished all their attention on the property, from the manicured grounds, surrounding olive-groves and vineyards, and flower-rimmed pool, to the immaculate and comfortable furnishings and appointments of the villa proper (with central heating, telephone, TV, stereo, washing-machine, dishwasher, electric oven, microwave, and freezer). Everything about this verandaed villa attests quality and attention to detail. The owners live in a cottage on the grounds and are always available to welcome (flowers in the rooms and baskets of fruit in season), and assist. On request they will help organize torch-lit barbecue parties featuring produce, wines and oils from the villa's own gardens. |
