1. A box contains blue (B) marbles, green (G) marbles, red (R) marbles, and yellow (Y) marbles. Each color marble weighs a different amount. You can use a balance scale to find their equivalent weights as shown. How many yellow marbles will it take to balance one blue marble?

 

 

2. On a ranch in Australia there are ostriches (which have 2 legs) and kangaroos (which have 4 legs). There is a total of 60 ostriches and kangaroos. There is a total of 190 legs among them all. How many ostriches are on the ranch?

4. Tom and Chelsea worked together mowing lawns. Chelsea worked 4 and 1/2 hour in the morning and Tom worked 3 and 1/2 hours in the afternoon. Together they were paid $64. If they were both paid at the same rate of pay, how much did Tom earn?

 

 

 

5. Find the length of the smallest side of this rectangle. Its perimeter is 32 meters.
