Middle School is putting numbers on their new basketball jerseys. Players must choose one or two numbers from
the set of 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9. How many
different one-digit and two-digit numerals can they make for their jerseys?
2. Find
a set of 6 two-digit even whole numbers which have a sum of 246, a median of
41, and no mode.
3. In
the game of 'Yahtzee', five dice are thrown. A 'Yahtzee' consists of all five dice showing the same number. What is the probability that in one throw of
the dice a person will get a 'Yahtzee"? Express your answer in fraction form.
4. Two
of the digits 1-5 are selected at random without replacement. (Once a digit has been selected, it can not
be chosen a second time.) What is the
probability that the positive difference between the two numbers is 3?
5. The
Continental Hockey League consists of two conferences, each with 6 teams. During the playing season, every team plays the
teams within its own conference twice and each team in the other conference
once. How many games are played during
the season?
