Draw a right triangle that has the same area as the figure at right.   Label the lengths of the two legs.

      

 

 

 

 

 

2.   What is the maximum number of cubes measuring 5 cm on an edge that can be obtained by cutting a solid cube that measures 1 m on edge?

 

 

 

 

 

 

3.   Show how to plant 14 roses in 7 straight rows with 4 roses in each row.   (Note: In addition to 7 rows of 4 roses, other rows of other sizes may be visible.)

Triangle A is similar to triangle B.   Find the perimeter of triangle A to the nearest whole unit.

 

 

5.   The total surface area of a closed circular cylinder is mπ sq. in.  If the cylinder is 5 in. tall and 4 in. in diameter, what is the value for m?
