Quotient

A quotient is the result of dividing one number by another:


   DIVIDEND --> 24
               ----  = 6 <--- QUOTIENT!
   DIVISOR --->  4

The number on top (being divided) is the dividend and the number on bottom is the divisor.
For example, the quotient of 8 and 4 is 8/4 = 2.
