Band news and upcoming show calendar:see us play!Upcoming ShowsTentative schedule. Dates may be subject to change. (updated 8/29/00) More dates will be posted as they come.
Band News(last updated 8/12/00)Video News: We will be shooting the video for "Sad Sweetheart of the Rodeo" next week, on Aug. 15-16 in Los Angeles, CA. Evan Bernard is directing it. (8/12/00) Modern Rock Live: We will be appearing on the nationally syndicated radio show "Modern Rock Live" on Sunday, Aug. 6. Check your local listings to see if the show airs in your area. (7/31/00) King James Version: Our second album is finally tracked, mixed, mastered, and approved -- in other words, done! It will be released on Sept. 12 on London/Sire Records. It's called King James Version, and contains 12 songs. Look for the first single, "Sad Sweetheart of the Rodeo," to hit radio stations sometime in August. (7/6/00) Look for a revamped website, touring info, and much more to come in the next couple months. Old news(where ya been?)Label Change, second album update: The second album is all recorded and pretty much done. However, we are awaiting the result of a contractual dispute between London Records (our former home) and the Universal Music Group. It's a long, complicated story, believe me, but the upshot is that we are going to end up on a new label somewhere within the Universal system (London Records has merged with Sire and moved to Warner Music). Are you sick of waiting? I know we are. Hold on just a little while longer, though, I think the album will be worth the wait. Hopefully we will have more definitive news soon. (2/25/00) Christmas Song to be released FREE as MP3 Okay, so it's not our new album, BUT -- to hold people over, we're releasing the Christmas song we recorded last year, "Sometimes You Have to Work on Xmas (sometimes)" for free in MP3, Liquid Audio, and RealPlayer formats on the Internet. Download and enjoy the holiday season! The song will be available beginning in December off of our site, as well as from Amazon.com, Liquid Audio, Real Networks, and MP3.com. Stay tuned for more details. (11/99) Album No. 2 update Our label, London/Slash Records, is merging with Sire Records. As a result, it looks our second album won't be released until early next year. No firm date has been set. We are taking advantage of the time in the interim to do a bit more writing and recording. No plans for touring yet. (9/99) Tracking on new album complete We've finished tracking the new album (tracking is the process of actually recording instruments, noises, etc.). We're now pretty much set to mix the album in Los Angeles beginning May 17. No word from the label as far as a release date, but rumor has it sometime in August or early September. I think we're all pretty happy with it. It's definitely a step up in maturity, and sounds a lot better than the last album.(4/30) MTV 120 Minutes appearance this Sunday, 4/4 We will be on MTV's 120 Minutes this Sunday. We answer a few questions, sit on a few boxes. Check your local listings for times. (3/31) New album update We are currently in the middle of overdubs and are nearing completion of the tracking (recording) phase of the new album. Basic tracks were recorded at Bearsville Sound Studios in Woodstock, NY in early March. We are finishing overdubs in Seattle, and will probably head to Los Angeles to mix the album in early May. Everything is on schedule. Will report more soon. (3/31) Click here to see archived news items. I think that's it for now....
